Culinary Demo
Bella Italia’s Neil Conklin prepares Lavender Grilled Prawns, as featured on “Taste of America” while Kathy Charlton of Olympic Cellars pours samples and
talks about their Le Melange Nouveau, The New Blend, released this festival – the first “local terroir” wine infusing Angel Farm culinary lavender into locally
produced Madeleine Angevine wine. Both grapes and lavender were locally harvested, defining the special characteristics our local geography bestows on Sequim’s
premium quality lavender and cool weather varietal grapes.
The blend of the two, grapes and lavender, in this new wine is a marriage of visions – the now flourishing Sequim lavender industry attracting international
focus and visitors, and our new vision of grape vineyards on the Peninsula producing wine from cool weather varietal grapes that pair with our local Olympic
Coast Cuisine. This wine is in limited supply and will be sold at Olympic Cellars during the festival.
